  • How can I download the VelaSense® Application?

Go to the Android Google Play Store under the Verizon Wireless information, or search by VelaSense. In order to download the application, we recommend that you have the TALKBACK feature turned on so that you can hear the download instructions. It might be helpful to get assistance from a sighted person in order to download and install the application.

  • Is there a charge for VelaSense®?

You can use VelaSense® free for 30 days. If you decide to subscribe, there is a monthly subscription fee of $4.99. This charge can be billed directly to your Verizon Wireless monthly bill, or, for customer types that do not have a monthly bill (i.e. pre-pay customers or government accounts) a credit card can be used for monthly billing.

  • What if I have an issue with the VelaSense® application after I’ve downloaded it to my device?

Technical support will be provided by Verizon Wireless for issues involving basic trouble-shooting. If Verizon is unable to resolve the issue, Visus Technology, Inc. will provide technical support.

  • Is there a user manual for VelaSense®?

Yes. The user manual is posted on the VelaSense® page of Verizon Wireless’s accessibility site. It is in text format, and can be read using a screen reader if necessary. The URL is http://www.verizonwireless.com/aboutus/accessibility/index.html.

  • Is a tutorial available?

There is a tutorial. We recommend using the tutorial during your 30-day free trial before subscribing to the application.

  • How can I remove the application?

You can remove VelaSense® by uninstalling from the Google Play Store.

  • How are refunds handled?

If there is an issue with billing of the application on the Verizon Wireless bill, the customer should contact Verizon Wireless. If the customer is being billed by credit card, it will be necessary to contact VelaSense® in order to resolve the issue. Use the “contact us” link at www.VelaSense.com.

  • Will VelaSense® use my data?

Yes, some applications within the VelaSense® suite will use data from your Verizon Wireless data plan. For more specifics, check the data usage chart.

  • What should I do if I want to use an application that isn’t in the VelaSense® suite?

All you need to do is exit from VelaSense®, and then independently launch the application you want to use the same way you normally would, by using the Android operating system.

  • How can I report bugs or problems with VelaSense®?

Any technical issues that you have with the application should be reported directly on the website, www.VelaSense.com.

  • Are there any accessories that work well with VelaSense®?

When using certain applications, like the facial recognition tool, it’s recommended that you make use of a lanyard and headset.
